NutrientStar
NutrientStar is an objective, science-based program that assesses the performance and benefits provided by fertilizer management products and decision-support tools. Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) provides financial support, and EDF and S Squared, LLC, co-manage the NutrientStar program, whose primary goal is to publish information about nutrient use efficiency, productivity and return on investment that fertilizer management tools may deliver to farmers. The information is primarily shared via web (www.nutrientstar.org). Assessments are completed through research, data collection, and field trials, and reviewed by an expert panel of leading scientists. Through these activities, NutrientStar aims to provide quality information to farmers and stakeholders throughout the commodity supply chain and improve fertilizer management, benefiting air and water quality across America.
